Educational Content: Enterprise Imaging & Workflow
Advanced Enterprise Workflow: Informatics & IT Methods for Improvements (Login may be required)
The session will focus on application of informatics and IT methods to improve productivity, improve quality, and prepare for the inevitable challenges to your department or practice.
Advanced Enterprise Workflow: Tools for Workflow Improvement (Login may be required)
This session will provide viewers with an understanding of how workflow problems can “hide” from even experienced administrators and practitioners. It will also provide an example-based survey of informatics and IT tools that have proved valuable in both evaluating workflow and improving it when problems are discovered.
Advanced Medical Imaging Protocol Workflow – A Comprehensive Electronic Solution in the National VA Enterprise to Optimize Process Efficiency, Care Quality and Patient Safety (Login may be required)
Protocol assignment for approved advanced medical imaging studies is an indispensable but undervalued function within the workflow of an imaging department. Opportunity exists within the Veteran Health Administration healthcare system to optimize advanced medical imaging protocol assignment workflow by leveraging enterprise health information systems, shared services, and web-based delivery to transition from a paper-based system to a flexible, extensible, optimized computerized system.
Enterprise Imaging Informatics – It’s Not Just Radiology (Login may be required)
The session will introduce attendees to key image management challenges that non-radiology image-intensive specialties such as pathology and cardiology face from the perspective of the informatics team as well as the clinician end-user. The session will address the challenges specialists face in developing specialty and/or enterprise-wide imaging informatics solutions.
Enterprise Imaging Informatics – Learn From Those Doing It! (Login may be required)
The session will cover solutions that have been developed to improve workflow, productivity, and diagnostic efficacy in imaging environments outside of radiology. Perspectives from IT professionals and clinician endorsers will be highlighted.
Improved Resident Report Evaluation with Web-based Tools Integrated into the Attending Signoff Process (Login may be required)
Integral to training in a radiology resident is the dictation of preliminary reports. These reports are subsequently reviewed, edited and signed by an attending radiologist. Feedback from this review is crucial to resident development and education. Ideally, the feedback is face to face, with the resident seated next to the attending during the review. However this is often not possible due to workload or scheduling constraints. This abstract sought to devise a system that would formalize this feedback process and provide data which can be analyzed.
Enterprise Imaging Informatics – What about the Other Guys? (Login may be required)
Dr. Krupinski discusses the many challenges facing enterprise workflow. In addition to challenges present by technology, users themselves present certain challenges.
