Membership in SIIM is open to anyone with an interest in the vital and growing field of medical imaging informatics and image management. SIIM is the only professional organization in healthcare that focuses specifically on clinical practice, education, and research in the field of imaging informatics. Today SIIM counts more than 2,200 individuals, as well as 100 institutions and corporations as members.

SIIM offers individual, institutional, and corporate memberships. All individual and organizational membership categories contain a number of core benefits and services providing members the resources to move careers forward and stay at the forefront of the specialty.  Core member benefits include a complimentary subscription to the bi-monthly Journal of Digital Imaging (JDI), discounts on books and publications, and reduced registration fees for the SIIM Annual and Regional Meetings. In addition, there are extra SIIM member benefits available for corporate members and institutional members.

SIIM Individual Membership Categories

MD/PhD Membership ($200 annually). Available to MDs and PhDs and those with equivalent doctoral degrees, i.e. DO, MBBS, MBChB, and others.

Regular Membership ($160 annually). Available to physicists, technologists, PACS administrators, IT directors and managers, healthcare administrators, and others globally with an interest in the vital field of medical imaging informatics.

Resident/Student/In-Training Membership ($100 annually). Available to full-time undergraduate and graduate students (12+ credit hours per semester), medical students, residents, and post-doctoral fellows. A verification letter from the student's program director is required.  Student members also receive complimentary Annual Meeting registration.

Emerging Nation Individual Membership ($75 annually). Available to individuals with an interest in imaging informatics in emerging markets (excludes Europe, Japan, Australia, and Canada).  SIIM retains the right to determine eligibility for emerging nation status for membership.

JDI Editorial Board Membership ($65 annually). Reserved for members of the Journal of Digital Imaging (JDI) Editorial Board.

Emeritus Membership ($100 annually). Available to SIIM members who have retired and are no longer practicing or employed full time in the field. 

SIIM Organizational Memberships

Institutional Members of SIIM are healthcare facilities that have members, departments, faculty or staff with an interest in imaging informatics and include 4-20 sponsored individual memberships depending on the level chosen. Each sponsored member enjoys the full benefits of individual membership.
